For almost ten years, my wife and I have been used to traveling to Indonesia for 800 to 900 euros round trip. That's the price range I gave the thirty people interested in our organized trips next year. After responding positively to my communication campaign and sharing their preferred dates, the 29 travelers pre-registered for the Indonesia trips I'm co-organizing have been split into three groups for summer 2027. We can now continue preparing the journey in separate WhatsApp groups. Unfortunately, taking everyone's wishes and availability into account didn't allow us to fill the four time slots we had evenly. Most people gravitated toward the same periods, so we had to drop the early-July window and form larger teams than planned. Never mind. We'll slightly rework our logistics to keep everyone happy and offer a rewarding experience to the travelers who have placed their trust in us.

Week 7: Choosing the Dates

Nearly thirty people have expressed interest in spending a holiday in Indonesia with us next summer. Now is the time for me to put together the final groups. I need to know everyone's availability so I can spread this whole crowd across separate time slots. All the pre-registrants have therefore been contacted and have until Friday, October 9 to send me their preferences. Between the inevitable last-minute cancellations and people opting for the same dates, forming three or four well-balanced teams of 5 to 10 travelers won't be the easiest step of the process.

Week 6: The Last Registrants

Having completely stopped my communication campaign because I was already happy with the number of pre-registrants, I absolutely didn't expect to welcome new passengers on board. And yet, five more people joined the list over the past seven days. There are now 27 of us. It's a total success.

After the frenzy of the first two weeks, the pace of pre-registrations has clearly slowed. Twenty-two people have now expressed interest in our group trips next summer, and I imagine that number won't move much more. Still, we're giving ourselves until early October before closing registrations and moving on to the next stage of the project.

This is it, Java Horizon is real now. After two years of preparation and thousands of dreams running through my head over that long stretch, the project is well and truly on track. The first clients are here. My promotional campaign kicked off six days ago and we're already at 15 pre-registrations. Not bad, right?
